Llandudno 27 v Ruthin 12

Llan booked there place in the final in the second half, with Ryan Pikes
kicking ability being the key to this home win. The first half was evenly
contested by both sides, with Llan taking an early lead after ten minutes of
play, having launched a sustained attacking movement, that centre Dave Davies
touched down for an unconverted try. Ruthin enjoyed a fair share of this first
half, and responded with a try by Arwyn Davies from a driving maul just on
twenty five minutes. Llan however increased there lead just on the half time
whistle, with another converted penalty by Ryan Pike. From the start of the
second period of play, they took play right up to the Ruthin try line, and from a
driving maul, that hooker  Nick Irlam was driven over for a try. Llan continued
to press forward, putting pressure on the visitors defence resulting in a
penalty being awarded, which Ryan Pike converted on the forty nine minute mark
of play.Byron Davies was the next to increase there lead with a try on fifty
five minutes, giving Llan a comfortable lead. Ruthin managed to keep themselves
in the match with a try by Nathan Jones, which he also converted. Llan now
stepped up a gear in the final quarter of play, and this proved to be effective,
and were awarded with two more penalties, both of which were both converted by
Ryan Pike, giving them a place in the final.
